This love month, I’m going to share 5 tips for giving yourself self-love. 

It can be hard to remember to love yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in all the madness of life. You’re running from meeting to meeting, making sure that everything is for your kids’ next activity, dealing with a nagging ache somewhere on your body, and wondering when you’ll find time to pick up the dirty clothes strewn across your bedroom floor. Although it’s not always easy, taking some time this month to give yourself self-love is important. And we’ve got a few ideas for how you can do just that:

What is self-love? 

Self-love is a fancy way of saying “pampering yourself”. It is not selfish—it’s super important. So, how can you pamper yourself this love month? 

Here are five tips for self-love:

Tip #1:  Spend some time each day doing something that makes you feel good. 

It might be taking a bath, listening to some music that makes you happy, or binge-watching your favorite program. Whatever it is, make it something that only YOU will do.

Tip #2: Do something nice for yourself. 

Treat yourself to something you’ve had your eye on—take a trip to the spa, buy a new outfit, or treat yourself to dinner out at an expensive restaurant. Just don’t spend too much money! Don’t spend money on material things at all! Instead of buying things for yourself, try giving back by volunteering somewhere or donating money to help someone else out.

Tip #3: Get a massage from somebody who knows what they’re doing! 

I have been getting massages since I was in high school and I would recommend them to anybody! You can get a much-needed relaxation session for your muscles and some mental clarity at the same time.

Tip #4: Get up and get moving. 

Working out regularly helps me relax, too. Not only does it improve my mood by increasing endorphins, but it also makes me feel like I can conquer the world. Alternatively, you can try more adventurous activities such as hiking, skydiving, or even bungee jumping! They are all fun and exciting, as they can make your life a whole lot more exciting!

Tip #5: Eat a healthy breakfast

Self-love is a constant battle. One can’t help but want self-love and self-care. One way to show yourself some self-love is to eat a healthy breakfast. Eating a healthy breakfast helps to provide energy for the day ahead and start your day on the right foot. It also provides you with the fuel you need to last through the day.
