How to stop sugar cravings
Oh no…the sweet treats are luring you…again! You’re at your weakest at 4pm and 10pm. And, if you’re honest, you give in to sugar cravings more than you’d like to.
Sugar cravings are extremely common, especially among women.
And you’ve gone cold turkey on all sugar, including fruit, only to find yourself eating peanut butter straight from the jar! And now you think you have a peanut addiction. So basically What’s asugar-craving person can do to much in order to satisfy those craving?
Few delectable substitutions to turn off your physical cravings for sugar.
Berries
Berries are an excellent, nutritious decision for halting sugar cravings. They taste sweet, yet their high fiber content means they are actually quite low in sugar.
Vanilla Chia Seed Pudding
Indulge your sugar cravings with a healthy Vanilla Chia seed pudding. Make this by soaking 3 tablespoons of chia seed in 12oz of unsweetened almond milk for 15 minutes. Add a pinch of cinnamon and ground vanilla bean to sweeten the pudding, if need be a drop or 2 of stevia and some fruits. Vanilla is known for decreasing sugar cravings & Chia seeds are a good source of many important nutrients, including omega-3 fatty acids, soluble dietary fiber, and some healthy plant compounds.
Legumes
Legumes like lentils, beans, and chickpeas are great plant-based sources of fiber and protein. Both these nutrients are thought to increase feelings of fullness. Thus, in theory, including legumes in your diet could help you feel fuller and diminish hunger-driven sugar longings.
Avocado Pudding
2 ripe avocados, ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 3 tbsp. 100 percent pure maple syrup. Blend until smooth and chill and serve.
Plant-Based Fats
Plant-based fats are a tasty way to alleviate sugar cravings. “Coconut oil is a unique plant-based fat that makes a difference & is super healthy too. If you are having difficulty by using sugar and dairy products in your coffee, try a dash of cinnamon powder and a little coconut oil. It tastes yum!!
Chocolate Almond Milk
Sugar cravings?! No problem! Pour unsweetened chocolate almond milk into a glass and serve it with a cinnamon stick.
Frozen Grapes
Grapes are naturally sweet so freezing them makes them refreshing and makes you feel like you are having a frozen treat. “When craving sugar, a handful of grapes can help mitigate your desire,”
