Ok, admit it, 2020 was rough, rough as sandpaper (maybe more) but it doesn’t mean that we don’t have to prepare for 2021.
Here’s a quick and healthy guide to jump start 2021:
1. Re-evaluate your goals and purpose
2020 brought a total whirlwind of unexpected events. Were you planning on a nice holiday away and had to cancel last minute? Or have you been wanting to visit your family and the pandemic got in the way? Before the year ends, set an alone time to really understand and revisit last year and plan your 2020 goals, so you can be ready for the upcoming year.
2. Plan ahead.
Now that you understand and have clearer goals for the upcoming year, the next critical item is to plan ahead, make sure to create tangible and realistic plans. As if you were planning to move to another place: Set a specific date and time frame, understand what things are needed, create a checklist, prepare the family and talk to them in advance so they will not be surprised, and make sure to have a plan B and C in place, in case plan A did not go accordingly. It’s always best practice to have a backup plan.
3. Be knowledgeable.
We are not suggesting you to be a whiz, but it pays to be in the know of what’s going on in the world, your state, or maybe just around you. Make sure to check credible information sources and before you share, do a quick fact check. You don’t want to be quoted as spreading fake news, right?
4. Challenge yourself. Stop emotional eating

5. Be healthy.
When the pandemic hit and all other unexpected challenges in 2020, we all got stuck in the limbo and for some it was too much. Hence, we ended up binge eating, or just really snacking more and moving less. So, let’s overcome this hurdle and be healthy once again. Below are more things that you can do to improve your health in 2021. Keep in mind, getting fit is more about what you do and how to best support your health and stop emotional eating:
Exercise for at least 30 to 60 minutes, three to five times per week
7 to 9 hours of restful sleep
Healthy meals and snacks (get my personalized meal plans here)
Bebe tu agua – have enough water intake
